Diane's books have won or shortlisted for several awards including the U.S. Daphne du Maurier Award for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense Writing and the Sisters-In-Crime Davitt Award.
Before commencing a career in writing Diane was a professional violinist. Born in New York she performed with the Rochester Philharmonic before securing a job in the Adelaide Symphony. She has lived in Australia ever since.
Apart from writing, Diane's passions include knitting, spinning, gardening, AUSLAN (Australian sign language), and anything to do with nature. A life-long animal lover, Diane ran a donkey sanctuary for many years on the family's property outside Port Lincoln, South Australia.
